The Bad News:

OK. So I saw Flight Plan today. There was so much wrong with it that I don't even know where to begin. I wish Jodie Foster would lighten up a bit and stop taking on such boring roles. I think she'd be great, for instance, as someone's sadistic, outrageous, quit-school-at-12, country-bumpkin lesbian aunt. Enough with these emotionally vacuous, frigid, professional types (engineers, scientists, psychiatrists) and/or unmotherly mother-saves-child role. Right now she's the Hollywood equivalent of freeze-dried space shuttle food.

The Good News:

I love going to the cinema, even if the movie is horrendous. Today's movie had the additional advantage of being so abysmal that it convinced me that I should definitely get back to my scriptwriting - an inexpensive source of motivation that couldn't have come at a better time.

Whoa-- finish that post-- you left me hanging!

And? I totally agree with you on the Jodie roles--- love the one you conjured up for her.

It's just too early in the writing process for me to discuss publicly - I don't want to jinx myself!
